Each year, NCACC compiles a series of county data maps to highlight demographic, economic, health, and education information for all 100 counties.

County Risk Group

The NCACC’s County Risk Group (CRG) offers workers’ compensation and liability and property coverages for counties and related entities. Members of the CRG enjoy comprehensive and affordable coverage specifically designed for local government exposures. Currently, we proudly serve over 70 member counties, including entities in one or both pools within the risk group.

It also includes a directory for NCACC’s Policy Team, who can provide subject matter expertise on goals and related legislation, county budget and tax issues, and more.

Winter 2024 CountyQuarterly — Feature Article

As the lights go down in a room full of veterans, the screen shows a career military veteran who has been elected as a county commissioner. Then, the sound of his voice fills the air with words describing what veterans encounter and struggle through transitioning from military life back to civilian life. Their journey is worth telling because this story is important. It matters. The audience becomes a part of a powerful moment in the documentary. 

Winter 2024 CountyQuarterly — Profile in Service

Wake County leaders and residents were saddened by the news of Commissioner James West’s passing on November 18, 2023. Lauded as a “pillar of public service,” Dr. West showed up for all of his communities consistently and thoughtfully.

Research

NCACC aims to provide county commissioners, county staff, and related audiences with data and information useful to understanding and operating the state’s 100 counties. The Association collects and publishes survey data from counties and compiles county-level data from myriad state and federal agencies.
